Speaking out and explaining the facts

  1. Greetings!

It was such a thrill for me to watch your vlog, Victoria.

First and foremost of all, I want to emphasize that on my vlogs/blogs, I frequently made it clear that I do not want to be a role model for anyone else in particular.

I am NOT your role model. I don't want people to look up. There are plenty of people out there for others to emulate. Cussing is part of who I am. Cussing is part of my morals. It is something that is very real throughout the world outside of high school environment.

Now, first impressions are important. I talked with 4 sources regarding the MSD incident. From what I understand, Sandra Edwards has done a decent job of pulling the school together under a difficult circumstance.

FYI, Ruby is not one of these sources.

Perceptions are important. First impressions last for ever. Like it or not, Mississippi is forever associated with slavery, racism and segregation. So for anyone else to walk in and see TWO museums right next to each other surely will prompt the visitors to assume that having two museums was the result of segregation!

My greatest beef with MSD and many deaf schools is that the hearing people who runs the school is not making enough efforts to get Deaf people to work in administration level.

Not only that, I was told that only 4 certified full-time teachers at MSD are deaf. FOUR?! No having deaf teacher aides do not count.

I never said that the school was teaching the students to be racists. It seems to me that the school was encouraging racism by having two separate museums. I don't think there are two or three museums at any deaf school except for yours!

You also mentioned that the mileage between MSD and Magnolia Speech School is not 8 miles. Well, maps.google.com said it is 8.1 miles! Dispute that with 'em.

However, the school itself has a long way to be one of nation's best deaf schools. CSD, CSDR, MarylandSD, IndianaSD & TexasSD are considered as the best 5 deaf schools in the country.

One last suggestion: Your vlog seems to repeat a lot of things - and 14 minutes are too long. Try to minimize down to 10 minutes long.

Otherwise, it was good to see you making a vlog to dispute with my vlog.

    Thanks!

    R-

  2. school was encouraging racism by having two separate museums.>>> actually, I think being colorblind is racist. I think being deafness - blind is audist. We need to appreciative the way people are.
